CLAIRE HOUSE & JAMES HOUSE REDEVELOPMENT
As part of Transform Leatherhead we will soon be submitting our outline planning application for the redevelopment of Claire House and James House in Bridge Street, Leatherhead.

In July we held our public consultation on the first stage proposals for the redevelopment of Claire House & James House. The online proposals were viewed hundreds of times and 89 people visited our exhibitions. We had feedback from 118 participants.
There was significant positive support for redevelopment of the building and for the creation of a riverside park. There were concerns, however over height, scale and parking.
The responses have been considered by the design team who have refined the application, reducing the number of units and the impact on the historic Running Horse pub.
Opportunities to comment on the development
As the application site includes land not owned by MVDC we were required to place a statutory notice in the local press before submitting the application.
Once the application has been submitted MVDC Planning will validate it and post it live on the MVDC planning portal. You will then be able to view the application and share your views.
We will share the link to the portal as soon as it becomes available.
